The next Rubberband gig at Drakes Bar in Basingstoke will be on Sunday 30 March 2003. This event will celebrate the first complete year of Rubberband Promotions. So, appropriately, we are setting about delivering some of the best names that have appeared at Drakes over the last year or who have played locally. Already lined up to play are Austen (winners of our first Battle of the Bands), Basingstoke based Not By Choice who are considered to be one of the best ‘newcomer’ bands of the last year and Jelutong who rocked Drakes on our opening night a year ago.
The last category is best crowd pleaser of 2002…and we want your help. Who is the best crowd pleaser? They don’t have to have played at Rubberband gigs to qualify for this slot and subject to their availability we will invite the band that we receive the most votes for. So who would you like to see? This could be an acoustic act or full band. Here are some ideas to get you thinking: Ant Salon, Bluedog, Brass Monkeys, Fume, Jokei Ciro, Kaldera, The New Rhodes, one*iota, Shameless and Stupid…and the list goes on.
